The West Virginia State Tax Department will be mailing copies of the 1099-G and 1099-INT statements that the agency has filed with the Internal Revenue Service.
In addition, taxpayers may now download these statements immediately through the department’s secure online portal,
https://mytaxes.wvtax.gov/). If you did not receive your 1099 in the mail, and want your 1099 in hard copy form, you may obtain it by calling our hotline number in the box to the right.
A 1099-G form shows the amount of state tax refund sent to taxpayers. The 1099-INT form is used to report the amount of interest paid on a refund to the taxpayer. The 1099-G is only used by taxpayers who itemize deductions on their federal return and should be included in documents provided to tax preparers. Taxpayers who do not itemize should disregard this form. The 1099-INT is used to identify additional income that must be reported for federal and state income tax purposes.
