Free File Options

The West Virginia Tax Division has continued its agreement with Free File Alliance member companies that offer free Online filing services to qualified West Virginia taxpayers.

Each Free File Alliance member sets taxpayer eligibility requirements for its program.

• IRS Free File Program Delivered by 1040.com®
• Adjusted Gross Income between $17,100 and $84,000 and
• Any Age or
• Active Military with Adjusted Gross Income of $84,000 or less
• 

• 1040NOW
• Free federal and West Virginia tax preparation and e-file for all who live in West Virginia with an Adjusted Gross Income (AGI) of $32,000 or less.
• This offer is limited to three (3) free tax returns per computer.
• 

• Online Taxes
• Online Taxes at OLT.com would like to offer free federal and free state online tax preparation and e-filing if your Federal Adjusted Gross Income is $48,000 or less, regardless of age.
• Activity Duty Military with an adjusted gross income of $84,000 or less will also qualify.

• IRS Free File Program Delivered by TaxAct®
• Adjusted Gross Income of $84,000 or less and
• Age between 20 and 59 or
• Active Military with Adjusted Gross Income of $84,000 or less
• 

• TaxHawk
• TaxHawk, Inc. intends to participate in the West Virginia Free File program for Tax Year 2024 with our FreeTaxUSA.com software product.
• We will be offering free electronic preparation and filing services for both Federal and West Virginia tax returns to eligible West Virginia taxpayers.
• For a taxpayer to be eligible to use our free services, they will need to meet the following requirements:
• AGI is $48,000 or less
