The Research Division is responsible for analyzing and composing statistical data retrieved from reliable sources (i.e. Census Bureau, etc.).

Once compiled, the information is published through various studies and reports as listed in the side-menu at left.

Our research also plays an integral role during West Virginia’s Legislative Session, providing information to the Legislature in the form of Fiscal Notes, which provide a summary of the proposed bill, the purpose of the bill, including any impact the bill will have on State revenues.

This information is derived from various statistical and analysis of information from economic sources.
